Zengeza – Youth empowerment in the community takes a major leap forward with the opening of the Jibilika Creative Hub. Founded by Plot Mhako in 2007, Jibilika is a non-profit organization dedicated to harnessing youth culture to drive social engagement, economic empowerment, and community development. The hub, launched at the Acquatic Complex, is the latest step in Jibilika’s mission to empower young people through the arts.

In partnership with the Ministry of Sport, Arts & Recreation, which offered the space for the hub, and with the technology provided by Next Level, Jibilika is offering state-of-the-art training to young people in Chitungwiza and surrounding areas. The new facility is set to become a focal point for creativity and learning, offering a range of innovative programs aimed at fostering skills, addressing social issues, and promoting cultural exchange.

The Jibilika Creative Hub hosts a variety of classes designed to equip youth with valuable skills across creative industries. These include music production, beat making, video production, photography, graphic design, digital marketing, and dance, among others. Classes are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, creating regular opportunities for local youth to engage in hands-on learning and artistic expression.

By offering training in both traditional and digital arts, Jibilika is positioning itself as a key player in youth development in Zimbabwe. The hub also serves as a space for cultural exchange, where young people can collaborate and share ideas, contributing to both their personal growth and the broader community.

The opening of the Jibilika Creative Hub marks a new chapter in the organization’s ongoing efforts to use the power of the arts for social good. With its focus on addressing youth unemployment, fostering creativity, and building a generation of socially conscious leaders, Jibilika is playing a crucial role in shaping the future of Zimbabwe’s youth.
