The Zimbabwe Under-18 girls’ handball team has booked their place in the final of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Zone Six tournament in thrilling fashion.

They powered past South Africa with a decisive 33-27 victory in their semi-final clash held at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex.

The young Zimbabwean team displayed impressive teamwork and skill to overcome a determined South African side. Their victory has set up a highly anticipated final showdown against Zambia, scheduled for today, Saturday, May 3rd, at the same venue.

Handball enthusiasts are expected to flock to the Aquatic Complex to witness what promises to be an exciting final.

However, it was a tougher day for the Zimbabwe Under-20 ladies’ team. They faced a strong Malawian side in their semi-final and ultimately succumbed to a 34-26 defeat.

Despite the loss, the Under-20 team will have another opportunity to secure a medal as they are set to compete in the 3rd/4th place play-off match, also taking place at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex.

All eyes will now be on the Under-18 girls as they aim to bring home the gold medal for Zimbabwe. The nation will be rallying behind them as they face Zambia in the final match of the IHF Zone Six Trophy.
