
In a significant show of support for grassroots football development, ZIFA Board Member Mr. Tafadzwa Benza has made a substantial donation to the Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League.
The generous contribution, consist of 22 soccer balls and a complete kit, which will be presented to the victorious Under-14 team from the CJFDL Season Opening Tournament, Excellence Academy.
Mr. Benza, who attended the tournament as a Guest of Honor, was visibly impressed by the talent and dedication displayed by the young footballers.
His subsequent donation underscores his commitment to nurturing the next generation of Zimbabwean football stars.
“I was truly inspired by the energy and passion shown by these young athletes,” Mr. Benza stated. “Investing in junior football is crucial for the future of our sport. These balls and the kit are a small token of my appreciation and support for their hard work and dedication.”
The Under-14 Season Opening Tournament, held at the iconic Chibuku Sradium, saw fierce competition among various teams from the Chitungwiza district.
The winning team, Excellence Academy demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament, earning them the coveted prize.
The donation by Mr. Benza has been warmly received by the Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League, coaches, and parents alike.
League officials expressed their gratitude for his support, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the young players’ development.
“This donation is a massive boost for our league,” said Mr Livingstone Manhombo CJFDL Vice Chairperson.
“The balls will be used for training sessions, and the kit will inspire our young players to strive for excellence. We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Benza for his generosity and commitment to junior football.”
