Chitungwiza’s rising cricket star, 15-year-old Beloved Biza, made a memorable impact in her debut One Day International (ODI) match, earning the Player of the Match title.
Biza’s impressive all-round performance included scoring 38 runs and taking 3 wickets for 22 runs, inspiring the Zimbabwe Women’s team to a five-wicket victory over the USA and securing a 1-0 lead in the series.
Biza, a Form Three student at Herentals College in Chitungwiza, was earlier awarded the prestigious Innocent Benza Scholarship, which covers both her high school and university tuition.
Her exceptional skills on the cricket field led to the establishment of an academy at her school, marking her rapid rise in the sport. This remarkable achievement comes after she made her senior national team debut at the age of just 15.
Biza’s performance reflects her potential to become one of Zimbabwe’s cricketing stars, and her contributions will be vital as the series continues.
