Excitement is in the air at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex as the newly established Chitungwiza Community Gymnastics Club opens its doors to the public.
This initiative is a result of a fruitful partnership between the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture and the Harare Gymnastics Association, aimed at broadening participation in gymnastics and providing specialized coaching within the community.
The club welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels, from aspiring gymnasts to those simply seeking a fun and healthy activity. Experienced coaches will guide participants through various gymnastics disciplines, fostering both physical fitness and skill development.

Classes are held every Saturday from 12:30 PM onwards, offering a convenient time slot for residents to engage in this dynamic sport. The Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex provides a suitable and safe environment for training, ensuring participants can learn and grow in a supportive setting.
This partnership underscores the commitment of the ministry and the sporting association to promote gymnastics as a sport for all. By providing accessible and specialised coaching the Chitungwiza Community Gymnastics Club aims to unearth talent, encourage healthy lifestyles, and contribute to the overall development of the community.
Last year the Harare Province Gymnastics donated a significant amount of gymnastics equipment to the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture for use by community clubs at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex. The association also managed to conduct coaching courses in gymnastics were 30 coaches from Chitungwiza were awarded with coaching badges.
