Young footballers in Chitungwiza are brimming with excitement as the Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League (CJFDL) begins its player vetting and registration process today at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex.
The process, which starts with the Under 14 age group, marks the beginning of what promises to be a fantastic year of football for these aspiring stars.
This year’s league welcomes several new teams, further expanding the opportunities for young players in the community. Joining the CJFDL are Seke North Academy (Unit N), Zengeza Busters (Zengeza 2), Wedge Academy (Jonasi), and JB 8 Foundation Football Academy (Unit N). Their participation underscores the growing interest and talent in junior football within Chitungwiza.
The vetting process is crucial for ensuring fair play and accurate player representation. Young players are required to bring their birth certificates for verification, signed parent consent forms and photos of each player are being captured for official league licensing.

This year, the CJFDL is partnering with Destiny Grafix, a well-known printing company, to produce the player licenses, adding a professional touch to the league’s operations.
“This is a momentous occasion for these young footballers,” said Mr Tapfuma Makufa the Chairperson of CJFDL.
“The vetting and registration process is the first step towards a season filled with skill development, healthy competition, and fun. We are thrilled to welcome the new teams and look forward to a successful year, ” added Mr Makufa
The CJFDL plays a vital role in nurturing young talent and providing a platform for them to develop their football skills.
The league’s commitment to proper player registration and verification demonstrates its dedication to creating a structured and credible environment for junior football development in Chitungwiza. With corporate support the future of football in Chitungwiza looks bright.
